Carly used to be known musically by the name of Sharktooth, but is now part of the soulful local four-piece The Workweek. They are playing a show at the Opolis this Friday, which you probably don’t want to miss.

I’m from Oklahoma City.

What do you do?
I serve beer at the library and play music in a rock and roll band.

Who or what do you use for inspiration?
Heartbreak.

What artists do you respect right now?
LOCAL artists just tryin’ to make it.

What are you sick of?
I’m sick of people telling me I sound like any other girl singer they can think of. And people assuming I’m a groupie or a girlfriend when we set up for shows. Girls can be in bands, too.

What music are you listening to recently?
Always the Beatles. Me and Ricky just discovered Dr. Dog. Its kinda weird these days but I always listen to the radio. Preferably the oldies station. I love when a song I forgot about comes on. As for local music, love Penny Hill, of course, and this kid named John Fullbright. I think hes like the new Bob Dylan.

What is your first creative memory?
Singing to the bumblebees from my swingset.

What is your favorite food/drank spot in Norman?
I love Pepes. Love library even though I work like 40 hours a week there. Swirls at the Mont. Patio at La Luna. And comedy nights at Othellos.
